Dr. Hany Kamel, MD, CCFP, FCCP

Dr. Hany Kamel, MD, CCFP, FCCP, is an experienced family physician and Chief Medical Officer with decades of practice in family medicine, internal medicine, emergency care, and respiratory health.
He earned his medical degree and master’s training in pulmonary diseases at Alexandria University, completed family medicine residency training at McGill University, and holds Canadian certification in family medicine along with fellowship in the American College of Chest Physicians.
Dr. Kamel is also actively engaged in clinical leadership and has contributed to research and publications in pulmonary and sleep medicine, reflecting his commitment to high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
Dr Olu Akinremi, MB ChB, DHCM, AM IOD
Executive Director
Dr Olu Akinremi is a physician and senior management consultant with broad expertise in hospital and primary care management, alongside invaluable experience across the life sciences and industry. He leads Openfield Medical Centre’s operations and patient experience.
With over fifteen years in healthcare, he has held senior roles across the NHS, the Department of Health and Social Care, and the private sector. Most recently, he directed multidisciplinary teams within an NHS commissioning support organisation to improve operational efficiency and deliver solutions that enhance patient care.
His specialisms include healthcare management, quality improvement, strategy and innovation, technology management, integrated planning, value based healthcare, research and development, programme leadership, benefits realisation, and knowledge management.
He has delivered national improvement programmes with NHS England, led specialty projects and innovations, and during the pandemic he led technical delivery teams within the Department of Health and Social Care to support colleagues on the front line. He has built key partnerships and contributed to NHS national reports. As a collaborative leader, he forges strong links across health systems and industry, enabling our team to focus on providing safe, timely, person centred care for families across Ottawa.
